tubes

Early this morning at 6am, CD and I made a trip to the hospital for a scheduled surgery - tubes for CD's ears. The surgery went very well - I even got to watch it on a TV screen in a waiting room. It was quite interesting. When CD woke up from her anesthesia, she was not a happy camper. She cried for a good 15-20 minutes. Part of it was being tired from waking up so early. But by the time she got home she was back to normal, happy CD. She didn't even go down for a nap first thing.

CJ was quite cute. We explained to him the night before that CD was going to the hospital in the morning to get her ears fixed so she could hear better and learn to talk better. We had to explain this to him because he was going to wake up to mom being gone and Grandma Allen being there instead. Anyway, he was quite excited that CD was going to learn to talk. He's been trying to help her learn to talk everyday at lunch by playing the game "Candace say...". As soon as I walked in the door with CD, CJ got all excited and said, "I want to hear her talk!" Apparently he was thinking that she would be able to talk as soon as she got back. Not quite so. But we are hoping that with having all the fluid out of her ears that she will pick up on her speech quicker than what she has.
