Christmas moments

We had a very enjoyable Christmas this year with lots of celebrating. We actually started by celebrating an early Christmas with the Allen's on Sunday, December 21. Grandma & Grandpa Allen were here along with Uncle Clint and Hilary. After church we enjoyed a Christmas dinner and then presents. Here are a couple of pictures from that day.

On December 23, Jon got a great Christmas gift - he got his splint/cast off of his foot. Now he just has to keep his foot in a boot for at least 6 more weeks. That means, at LEAST six more weeks of not walking on it. The doctor said it may be longer. This will definitely be a long, long winter for us!

In order to help Jon with his being bored and being stuck on the couch, Grandma & Grandpa Parker gave him his Christmas gift early - a Wii. He has enjoyed playing it quite a bit and helps keep him entertained. We also got our Christmas gift early from Grandma & Grandpa Allen. They got us a new dining table and chairs! We were quite surprised! But Grandma & Grandpa Allen know better than any one how crowded we were around our little round table. Our new table can easily fit 8 - 10 when the leaf is used! Awesome! Sorry, I don't have a good picture yet.

On Christmas Eve we went to Parker's. The Parker family has always had the tradition of Santa Clause visiting the house. CJ was quite excited to sit on Santa's lap. When Santa asked him what Santa was going to bring him, CJ looked around at everyone with questioning eyes. Obviously he didn't know what Santa was bringing him since he hadn't got anything yet. CD hated Santa Clause. She screamed when mom carried her up by him and then she screamed when mom went to sit on his lap too. Poor girl. Maybe next year she'll like him better. This was her first year seeing him after all.

Christmas morning CJ was so excited to see Santa had left him. He was pretty disappointed that mom and dad made him wait until CD woke up before going to look under the tree. Both kids enjoyed their gifts though. CJ got lots of new farm toys. His favorite was the big green combine. CD got lots of "little people" toys.

After we were done with presents at our house we went to Grandma & Grandpa Parker's house for traditional German pancakes and more presents. We all felt quite spoiled this Christmas with all the wonderful presents we received. Later on Christmas day Grandma & Grandpa Parker and Carrie came over to play the Wii. We had a great time watching Grandma & Grandpa box each other. They didn't stay as long as we would have liked because they had to leave before the blizzard stopped them from getting home.
Well, that was our Christmas in a nutshell. We loved it and felt very blessed and lucky! Thanks to everyone who helped make our Christmas a wonderful one!
