CJ had this first swim lessons ever this summer. He went to swim lessons at the Logan Aquatic Center from June 6 - June 17. CJ has a fear of water being on his face and especially in his eyes. So when his cousins decided to have swim lessons, we thought it might help CJ to be in a class with them. His cousins, G and S, are opposite of him - they have no fear when it comes to water. It was fun watching the difference between CJ and the others. They jumped in the pool with no hesitation on the first day. CJ gently and very slowly slid down into the water. But CJ improved each day and by the end of the session he had come a long way. Instead of getting in very slowly, he would almost jump in, but kept his hand on the wall. Instead of clinging to his teacher when asked to rocket, he would just ask the teacher to still help him not sink. Also by the end of the session CJ went from barely putting his mouth and nose in to blow bubbles in the water to doing a complete bob down into the water. He is so proud of how is doing and loves to tell people that he can bob in the water now. Way to go CJ for facing your fears and getting more and more comfortable in the water!
