fun at the county fair

Last minute Friday night (around 7:30pm) we decided to take the kids to the fair.  It really was my fault because Jon had recently gotten home that evening (something that doesn't happen often - getting home on Friday before the kids are in bed) and I asked him if we were going to take the kids to the fair during the weekend.  I of course was meaning Saturday, but he said, "Let's go now."  Okay.

So we got everyone packed up and headed to the fair for a couple of hours - something that isn't my usual routine.  As soon as we got there we saw the cows and CD threw a fit.  So we skipped seeing the animals and looked at the tractors instead.  We also saw the princesses on the horses at the rodeo.  CD was excited about that since they were all dressed in pink and we made sure she knew they were princesses - even if they weren't in frilly dresses.  We then headed to the carnival rides for CJ.  He loved them.  That night he went through a maze thing, rode the carousel, and even went on the little roller coaster.  We were very proud of him since two years ago he barely did anything.

Apparently we didn't get enough of the fair Friday night though because we returned Saturday.  On Saturday we actually were able to see the animals and looked at some of the booths.  And of course CJ had to use up the rest of his carnival tokens.  We tried to get CD to go on some of the smaller rides, but she wouldn't have a thing to do with it.  CJ went through the fun house, went on a car ride, and road the roller coaster again.  We ended our day by getting snow cones and relaxing in the shade a bit.  I forgot to mention, LM both days spent her time in the Moby with mom - sleeping of course.  Here is a slide show of some pictures from the fair.
