happy halloween

On Halloween Eve we finally decided to carve the one pumpkin that we had (which was graciously given to us by our neighbor). I wanted the kids to help clean it out. Here is a little video of them helping. Sorry it is sideways. I keep forgetting I can't turn the camera when I do videos. CD loved it though. She is always so willing to try almost anything. CJ tried to take the seeds out one by one with his spoon. I did convince him to put his hand in there once. Anyway, they had fun for a couple of minutes until dad took over.

On Halloween we had plans to go trick-or-treating on Main Street in the morning. But since mom and CJ felt horrible with colds, we skipped out. CJ was so excited to dress up and go trick-or-treating that we did go out at night even though he was sick. CJ loved going door to door and knocking on the doors. CD seemed to be more fascinated with the pumpkins on every porch. Maybe that was because she was dressed as one. Who knows. When the door would open, she would try to go inside everytime. Another cute thing CJ did was that he would not let the people put the candy in his bucket. He always had to do it himself.

We had a difficult time putting on CD's costume. But she soon got used to it and didn't mind. We could not get her to stay still for a good picture though. She kept wanting to run off, so I had to hold her in place long enough to get a picture taken. CJ on the other hand put his costume on all by himself. The weather was wonderful and everyone had a good time trick-or-treating.

We hope everyone had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
